“Thank you for the good work you are doing for the Haitian people. I pray that God will continue to bless you to help others and give you strength to keep serving people like me and my family.”
Family Information: Antoine lives in a house of 12 people, some of which are family while others are adopted neighbors and children who lost their families in the earthquake. The household includes Antoine Bigord (44), Yurose Bigord (38), Pastor Rabuen Lamatiniere (70), Carl Bigord (13), Nicama Bigord (11), Rubens Bigord (9), Schedler Bigord (5), Sonia Lamatiniere (18), Saurel Alfonce (28), Mrie Paul Lamatiniere (24), Elise Meranf (17), and Anaphase Meranf (14).
Job Information: For 4 members of the family, a 10 minute walk to work at their boutique brings in about $10,000 a month for the household. If it weren’t for the overwhelming medical bills, the family would be able to live relatively comfortably.
Medical History: Virtually every member of the household reports being sick from diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach aches at least 10 times a month. Twice a month these illnesses result in hospital visits, costing at least $50 a person. Altogether, these hospital bills drain a significant portion of the household’s income.
Follow Up Date: October 2012
The Bigord family reports no longer having diarrhea, vomiting, or stomach aches since they got their filter. This is a huge improvement from the 10 times/month the family had to go to the doctor before! The family has also been able to save $5oo HD/month on medical bills since they got their filter!
